Singapore, in 2005-06, reported a growth of 23% in the number of patients coming for medical treatment. Only a few other countries have specialization in these sophisticated medical procedures.

Because of the developed medical facilities in Singapore, more and more patients from UAE are opting for specialized treatments. Around 200 people from Middle East visited Singapore each month in 2006 for medical care, 20% higher than 2005 with about 350,000 international patients, a rise of 24% on 2004.
