The Size of Pre-School Market in the Country is likely to Grow at 30% CAGR till 2022

The preschool market in India is expected to grow at a rate of 30% through 2022. Parents today have greater inclination towards early childhood education and care. In addition, growing expenditure on education in India coupled with increased number of working woman population are few factors which are driving the growth of preschool market in the country. A lot of preschool expansion in tier 2 and 3 cities along with increased corporate and private tie-ups are adding onto the market revenue for preschools in India. 
 
Early education in India is now being considered extremely significant as it is marked by rapid transformations in child’s physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. Parents are well aware of the fact that engaging children in activities early will enhance their emotional and intellectual growth. Parents are also looking for scientifically designed, research-backed and outcome-oriented preschool concepts where their child can benefit the most; and this is where preschool brands come into play. Such preschools have extended to provide education to 16.5 crore children in the 0-6 years of age category. Moreover, most of these chains have now marked their presence of over 1,000 preschools in each of the Indian cities. Rural cities are also emerging with the establishment of preschool chains such as Hippocampus and Sudiksha, who have scaled up their business vastly.
 

The preschool market in India is on an upsurge through franchise concept.  Companies are operating in through the franchise model to achieve scale of operations. A renowned chain, named, Shemrock & Shemford Group of Schools has already reached a steady traction in its franchise business. The preschool chain has around 525 centres spread across 125 cities in India. It is looking forward to add 100 more franchise schools this year in order to expand their market share in the industry.
