The fleet of old aircrafts has significantly contributed towards aggravation of air pollution in the world.  But over the past years, a new trend has emerged in the global Aerospace Industry under which, the old fuel inefficient and high noise aircrafts that emitted significant amount of poisonous emissions are being replaced by their environment-friendly counterparts. According to a new report by RNCOS, "Global Aerospace Industry Outlook 2015", there is a shift towards manufacturing technologies that are more fuel-efficient, sustainable, produce fewer emissions, and manufacture low-noise aircrafts.

Various countries like US and Europe have incorporated measures to adopt green technology in manufacturing aircrafts. For instance, NEWAC, one of the European collaborative research programmes, is seeking to bring a range of new technologies to help the Aviation Industry meet challenging environmental targets, as identified by the Advisory Council for Aeronautical Research in Europe (ACARE). It aims at reducing noise and carbon dioxide emission by 50% and oxides of nitrogen by 80% by 2020. In addition, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to adopt new air pollution standards primarily for large commercial aircraft engines, including 737s, 747s, and 767s, to reduce ground-level nitrogen oxide emissions. The standards would apply to all new engines to be manufactured in 2013.

The report, "Global Aerospace Industry Outlook 2015", provides an in depth analysis of the global aerospace market and its various segments, including civil and military aerospace industry. Further, it has also analyzed the Aerospace Industry by developed and emerging regions, by providing a detailed study of the segment, export, and import of aerospace products by country. In addition, the report has given a brief overview of the trends and drivers of the industry to chart out a industry scenario for the future. The report has also highlighted the key players along with their recent developments, to gauge the moves of various players in the industry.
