According to our new research report US Photovoltaic Market Analysis, the US photovoltaic industry has been growing at fast pace on the strong regulatory support and its acceptance in commercial and residential consumer segments. PV systems installation costs have dropped on an annual average of 3.6% in the past decade which made adoption more affordable for consumers. Our research has revealed that the country will continue to post stiff competition in the global PV arena in coming years and the annual installations will reach 1.9 GW by 2014.

The study has inferred that the utility sector installations showed most promising growth in 2009. The annual installations almost tripled in 2009 against the 2008 level. Among the installations, a 21-MWAC installation in California and a 25 MW installation in Florida were the largest PV systems installed in 2009 and the largest installations ever in the country. In coming years, the utility solar PV installations are expected to speed up and their share in total installed capacities will sustain their current levels, supported by various factors discussed and analyzed in the report.

In terms of PV installations costs, it is anticipated that the solar power will attain cost parity with conventional energy sources by 2015 in many markets of the US provided the expected cost increase in fossil-fuel-based electricity. The industry is witnessing continuous technology and efficiency improvements across the solar spectrum which will push solar to cost parity at even faster pace than actually expected.

US Photovoltaic Market Analysis focuses on the growing marketplace for the PV industry at national and state level. It analyzes the current market trends along with future growth prospects of the industry. The report studies all prominent market segments, including residential, utilities and non-residential. The report also gives statistical data, state level PV cost benefit trends, module wise cost forecasts, utility scale solar facilities, etc to help clients identify the factors critical to their successful market penetration and gain early entry advantages.
