China's Outbound Tourism Sector on the Rise

Outbound travel has been growing rapidly in China for the past so many years. In the initial ten months of the year 2005, number of outbound trips made by Chinese citizens was 25.76 million. While it was 16.58 million in the first half of the year 2006, 7.5 percent above as compared to the same period last year (2005).
 
According to the World Tourism Organization prediction, by the year 2020, China shall become 4th largest source of outbound tourists in the world. Above, 100 million Chinese people travel abroad each year.
 
Chinese tourists are special not only for their number, but also for their lavish style of spending. As per Goldman Sachs, an investment banking & management firm, increased outbound travel by Chinese citizens and strong demand from China could together add to around US$355 Billion to its estimate of luxury goods medium term revenue growth of the industry.
