Vietnam To Increase Exports of Farm Products

The ministry of Vietnam said it would focus on boosting production of items with big export advantages.

The targeted turnover is almost 2.8% higher than previous year's US$ 7.2 billion. The ministry of Vietnam also said it would focus on boosting production of items with big export advantages, establishing large-scale production zones attached to processing establishments and markets, and developing husbandry industry.

In addition, the ministry will also focus on improving quality of products, registering trademarks of products, building brands, new tapping established market like China, European Union, the United States, and Japan looking for new avenues.

The Government of Vietnam has offered various incentives to investors in rural development and agro-forestry-fisheries, said an official of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

Vietnam hopes that investors will pay attention to the production and processing of farm products for export, said Le Van Minh, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as per the news published on AGBIOTECH.

The government of Vietnam is also planning to improve products quality produced in the country, diversify the product into higher-value products & market and raise productivity & value addition.

The ministry of Vietnam is also planning to increase the export of processed farm produces, textiles, footwear, handicrafts and garments to the European Union, and foodstuffs, tea, rubber, fruits, vegetables, garments and footwear and chemical products to East European countries and Russia, to make the export turnover of US$ 15.9 Billion from the European market in 2010.
