As per our research report Saudi Arabia Banking Sector Analysis, Saudi Arabia has one of the largest and fastest growing banking markets in the Middle East. In terms of banking assets, the country ranks second in the region after the UAE. Banking assets continued to record positive growth even in 2009, when economic growth slipped below 1%. With the increased demand for consumer as well as corporate financing on the improved economic conditions, commercial banks are expected to improve their financial positions. As per our estimations, the banking assets are forecasted to grow at a CAGR of around 18% during 2010- 2013.

Our research shows that despite global financial crisis, Saudi Arabian banks continued to expand their lending activities. Bank loans and deposits posted a robust growth during 2004-2009 and are also anticipated to show stupendous growth by 2013. We have also found that the private sector dominates the Kingdom’s banking sector and accounts for the bulk of credit extended as well as deposits received. In this regard, our report provides a thorough analysis of loan market and bank deposits. Future outlook has also been provided on them till 2013.

Our study shows that the Saudi Arabian banking sector has witnessed a notable expansion in the modern banking technologies, including Internet banking and phone banking services. Banks are also modernizing their payment card technology and shifting towards smart card technology to offer more secure and advanced featured card to consumers. Besides modern banking technologies, our team of experts has discussed other emerging growth opportunities in the Saudi Arabia banking sector.

According to our study, the Saudi Arabian banking sector posted solid growth throughout the past decade and remained amongst the most profitable banking sectors in the Middle East. However, the sector saw a decline in profitability during 2007 - 2008. But with better return on investments and improvement in assets quality (as the economy resumes its growth), the banking sector is projected to regain its profitability. The report provides future forecast on net profit till 2013. It also provides an analysis on payment system. Moreover, it has identified key players and provided their detailed business description.
