The medical tourism industry in Malaysia has been growing tremendously over the past few years and has become a major attractive medical destination for several developing countries. The country has shown remarkable improvement in meeting the demand for quality-assured medical care via trained medical specialists and first-class facilities. As per the statistics revealed by the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia in 2005, there were 222 private hospitals that reached 246 at the end of 2008. Currently, Malaysia has eight hospitals accredited by the JCI like Gleneagles Hospital, Pantai Hospital and many more in addition to 41 private hospitals registered under the MHTC. In total, there are 71 hospitals accredited by MSQH.
