An opportunity assessment performed in the case of China reveals that the ever rising burden of elderly population and consequential rise in cancer incidence mingled with increased household earning will drive the need for proton therapy centers. Even though China will be home to 3 centers by 2014 it would still require atleast 4 more single room centers by 2018.

According to our report, Global Proton Therapy Outlook 2018”, 16 such centers have been established across Italy, France, Japan, Germany, China and UK in the past 5 years. Through our report we have deduced the demand and supply gap and the true demand for proton centers by 2018.

The report has been divided into four broad chapters namely: Current Radiation Therapies, Components of a Proton Therapy Center, Geographic Demand Assessment and Competitive Landscape & Strategic Analysis.

The Geographic Assessment section provides a detailed analysis of four geographies namely, Japan, Germany, China and UK. For every region a demographic outline has been carved and the contribution of the various age groups has been considered. Next, we highlight the Macro-Economic Indicators of the country which includes trends in GDP, Household Incomes, Disposable Income etc. Then we have provided the reader with the Current Status of Proton Therapy which includes the likes of existing and upcoming centers along with details such as vendor, number of rooms, year of operation etc. Finally, in the opportunity assessment chapter we have deduced the number of potential patients whose demand for proton therapy will remain unmet in 2018 and subsequently we have estimated the number of facilities that would be required to cater to these patients.

Lastly, in the competitive landscape chapter we introduce the reader to the major players of the industry and touch upon every player’s strength and weakness. The report serves as a must read for anyone willing to invest in this promising area and trying to evaluate opportunities. It is also beneficial for equipment vendors who would like an insight into their position in the industry and how they can improve upon the same.
