Booming Low-Cost Housing Ushers Invigorating Growth in Vietnam

Taking into consideration, high demand of low-priced housing in Vietnam against its low supply, the government has directed the Ministry of Construction to adopt necessary measures. Proactive government initiatives in favor of the rising demand attributed towards a total investment of nearly VND3.6 Trillion (US$ 173 Million) in 37 low-cost housing projects covering a total landmass of 750,000 Sq M in 2010. The Ministry is co-operating with relevant Units to mobilize capital in an effort to speed up the progress of low-cost house projects.
 
Factors including increasing rate of urbanization, strong demand of low-priced house, rising number of households, and high investment, the Vietnam housing sector has been exhibiting stupendous growth over the past few years. The demand and supply of housing Units has met the expectation of a large population, especially in cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City owing to the influx of high GDP growth. Thus, taking into consideration the existing factors, number of households are likely to grow at a CAGR of around 3% during 2010-2013 according to our new research report, Vietnam Housing Forecast to 2013”.
