3G Subscriber Base to Witness Strong Growth with the Entry of Private Players

With the launch of 3G services by the major players, 3G subscriber base is expected to witness strong growth. Till now, only BSNL and MTNL have launched 3G services, but now private players are also ready to enter this market. Tata DOCOMO has become the first private operator to launch 3G inIndia and other leading players like; Airtel and Reliance are also expected to launch their 3G services by 2010 end or early 2010. As per our research report Indian Telecom Analysis (2008-2012)”, with the entry of these private players, the overall 3G subscriber base is expected to hit the mark of 60 Million by 2013-14, accounting for 7% of the overall wireless user base.
