By the end of this year, Wal-Mart's thousand stores shall have RFID activated. The amount is thus going to double as the company adds RFID to five hundred more stores.
Rollin Ford, executive vice-president and chief information officer of Wal-Mart, in a news published by IndustryWeek said that the current inner study of our continuous labors, alongside with the EPCglobal Gen 2 tag commencement, restrengths the worth of this know-how for Wal-Mart, our suppliers of products and in the end our patrons. These all installations will be furnished on tags Gen 2. Installations having Gen 1 tags would be changed to interpret only tags of Gen 2.
"RFID demand in the industry is projected to grow more, following its rising use in other new areas joined with manufactured goods creations. The multitude of benefits brought in by means of the know-how together with better safety, growing sales and reduced crimes and an improved consumer check are adequate to draw potential consumers such as suppliers and manufacturers. Ford said that they feel this new technology, once joined with latest work techniques, shall bring in additional advantages than they are currently receiving. He further said that they are vigorously engaged in crafting some new ways to speed up their plan, and, in doing so, build up yet more value for all those involved.
