Much awaited Microsoft Windows operating system, Vista will guide $40Bn through economic activity and make room for about 100,000 new IT jobs in 6 nations of Europe i.e. Denmark, Germany, Spain, Poland, UK & France, as per a study by IDC & Microsoft. This landmark is expected within a year of release of Vista.
As per the study, Vista will lead to various economic benefits like new employment opportunities and a solid economic base. Vista, however, may be delayed in Europe due to antitrust conflicts between Microsoft & European Commission.
Vista has been a much-awaited version of Windows, choice of over 90 % of people worldwide. Windows generates around 30 % revenues for Microsoft & 60 % operating profits.
Nations analyzed IDC's study account for sixty five percent of total expenditure on technology in EU (European Union) economic zone, including EU with Switzerland, Norway & Croatia. For each euro earned by Microsoft in this region, other firms like PC makers, software vendors and retail firms can make over 13 euros, according to the study.
"These figures are indicative of what we can expect in other countries as well, especially the developing economies where Vista will provide a boost to the BPO industry", said an analyst at RNCOS.
IDC predicts over hundred million PCs with Vista installed in the very first year of its release. Vista is scheduled for release in 2007.
