Oman does not encourage unwarranted assumption. However, real estate expansion plans, in the government as well as private sectors, are being enthusiastically practiced. Citizens from bordering countries, mainly from the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait are keen to invest in Omani real estate sector.

The real estate sector in Muscat is on the road to global fame. Undoubtedly, projects such as the Wave & Blue City will support the country's property market. The costs of certain new estates (completed & under construction) are quoted at 25-30% premium.

Most buyers consider that the Muscat zone will remain one of the important contributors to construction & economic vitality of Oman. A rise in the country's construction, in one way or the other, is already there. It is clear from the increase in the number of expatriate workers in the construction segment.

The Omani govt. is already permitting foreign nationals to purchase properties in chosen areas. Major banks are offering housing loans to both expatriates and nationals at striking rates. Buying real estate in Oman is like an investment in fixed assets for any investor.

In spite of rising concerns over the health of the local economy along with geopolitical worries, a 15% rise in the salaries of government workers and increased consumer spending will provide enormous help to the domestic real estate sector.

"If the system guarantees a healthy rise in real estate prices, Oman will continue to be a supreme real estate destination for investment. However, businessmen, potential buyers or salaried-class should not anticipate real estate costs to reach an unconvinced dimension. Certainly, real estate will observe a reasonable increase in prices", an analyst at
RNCOS said. Businessmen from India and Pakistan are also eager to acquire properties in Oman, said the analyst.
