Malaysian Tourism Ready to Record a 13.9% Growth in Three Years

Tourism industry of Malaysia, is all set to develop further with tourist arrivals expected to increase at a rate of 13.9% to 19.85 Billion annually in the coming three years.

Tourism industry of Malaysia, the 2nd largest forex (foreign exchange) gainer in this southeast Asian country, is all set to develop further with tourist arrivals expected to increase at a rate of 13.9% to 19.85 Billion annually in the coming three years, as per the news published on The Edge Daily.

Tourism ministry secretary general Datuk Dr Victor Wee said, "moving forward, the industry's growth would be driven strongly by intra-Asian travel due to interconnectivity and affordability. We are also very interested in the West Asia, North Africa and Russian markets - they have a high growth potential and have been demonstrated to be a high yield market in terms of average expenditure per tourists and length of stay despite having a seasonal travelling pattern," he added.

Presently, the tourism Malaysia, in a novel way to attract the tourists of India, offered young couples a chance to celebrate their marriage in Malaysia. As part of efforts in this direction, the Malaysia tourism has also taken a group of eight wedding planers from India to their country to show them what the country will offer to those who are planning to tie the nuptial knot.

The foreign currencies' strength, including the Singapore and Euro dollar, in relation to Malaysian currency (Ringgit), will also help attract many tourists to Malaysia. This money factor value will mainly attract the tourists from India, Singapore and Thailand, which form the 60% of Malaysia tourist influx.

Beside this, events like Petronas Malaysia F1 Grand Prix, Langkawi International Maritime, Air Show Exhibition (Lima), Le Tour de Langkawi, and other great events will further boost the picture of Malaysia as an enjoyable destination for holidays.

As per a research analyst at
RNCOS, "Malaysia has already proven itself as the most triumphant as well as fastest growing economy in the Southeast Asia. Being the world's greatest unexplored and undiscovered country, there exist a huge tourism expansion potential in Malaysia".
