Recounting tourism as a high-growth movement, the report forecast that industry will grow by 4.2 percent, year on year, globally in next decade, as per the news published on Africast.

The paper stated that the African nations have huge potential, with tourism industry contributing almost 8.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in sub-Saharan Africa by year 2016. The area is estimated to generate 10.58 million jobs or 6.6% of total employment and standard annual increase of 4.7 percent in next decade in sub-Saharan Africa.

Global economic revival has aided in development of tourism industry in several African countries. This is intimately related to the level and diversity of tourism expansion in chief tourist places in the region. "Western" tourists persist to have a rising curiosity in people and cultures of budding countries, therefore rising tourism to numerous regions of Africa.

Cultural bonding among people of the region and between Europe and Africa are growing in significance, encouraging more tourism in Africa. Development in airline services and frequencies to significant markets and a persistence of the positive impact of computer technology and infrastructure, as well has positive payback for the African tourism business.

There exists immense potential perceived in Africa for escalating its domestic market. An increase in personal disposable income, plus leisure time, has led to increasing figures of new domestic tourists venturing into the tourism scenario of the country.

As per a research analyst at
RNCOS, "Africa's tourism industry has immense potential to grow. Africa can easily attain double-digit growth from tourists arriving from main overseas markets, if a number of infrastructure fundamentals are appropriate and up to the mark. Safety and security of the tourist destinations, is the decisive factor for foreign arrivals; nevertheless, proper and focused marketing and a liberated aviation scenario is just as decisive to South Africa achieving elevated arrivals growth".
