As per a study, mobile phone users are getting addicted to cell phones, which results in increased irritable & stressed behavior.
After conducting a thorough study David Sheffield of Staffordshire University discovered that 16% users had behavioral problems, related to mobile phones like being irritable or being pre-occupied with cell phones, out of total 106 users that were part of the study. In a different study, he found comparatively low blood pressure in users who had stopped using cell phones.
Twenty cell phone users were tested before & after stopping the use of cell phones and it was found that their blood pressure was comparatively lower than before. He predicts an impact of this study on market. The mobile phone industry is worth 13 billion GBP in UK and 1/3rd of the calls made in UK are through mobile phones.
These warnings have come after long debates on whether mobile phones can increase cancer risks. However, a govt. commissioned report denied any health hazards due to the use of mobile phones.
"Athermal effects caused due to radio frequency waves have raised concerns like cancer development & affects to brain & nervous tissues. Radio waves don't posses enough energy to damage DNA and, therefore, can't cause cancer", according to the report "Changing Faces of The Global Mobile Handset Market-2007" published by RNCOS.
GSM Association's David Pringle says that there are two ways to look at this. Cell phones can also be seen as 'liberating tools'. They've given convenience and security to people.
