The volume sales of 3G mobile handsets in Qatar are expected to cross 300,000 Units this year as more and more people are switching over to 3G mobile services.
Axiom Group, the largest mobile retailer, states that 3G mobile handsets sales in Qatar are anticipated to have crossed 300,000 Units in the current year, as reported by gulftimes.
By the end of September 2008, more than 280,000 Units of 3G mobile phones were sold in Qatar compared to merely 148,000 Units in entire 2007, as per the data released by GFK. This indicates a growth of more than 91% in the sales of 3G units over 2007.
As more and more people are switching over to 3G mobile services for accessing advanced features from the traditional voice-based services, the sales of 3G-enabled mobile handsets have increased significantly in the Middle East for last few years.
Even an average mobile user in Qatar is looking for more sophisticated features in the mobile devices and very curious to know all the options available in 3G - whether it is related with sales or post-sales support. In fact, mobile users expect retailers to guide them as experts besides selling the product.
Apart from this, the stupendous growth in 3G-enabled handsets surged on the back of increasing awareness about the technology, affordable handsets and penetration of 3G networks. The fundamental features of a 3G handset include wireless video, wireless voice capabilities, wireless broadband data, smart card insert, web browsers, music players and other office applications.
Moreover, one should keep migrating to the new advanced technology from previous technology to match the pace with which the world is moving. In reality, the road to progress is increasingly becoming dependent on the technology and 3G is the latest one when talking of the mobile communication.
According to a Research Analyst at RNCOS, “The sales of 3G handsets in Qatar have increased at a fast pace in the recent few years. Rolling out of new technologies to provide the most advanced features to consumers have created more opportunities for the mobile handset market, but mobile operators can capitalize on them if they expand the 3G networks and offer better facilities.”
